Children of Kilimanjaro Orphanage (COKO) is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization dedicated to providing educational and medical services to the orphaned children in Moshi, Tanzania.
COKO partnered with PPWD to develop a new website on the Shopify platform, focusing on enhancing their online fundraising capabilities. Given COKO's status as a non-profit, the website was designed with a special emphasis on creating a donations checkout that includes a recurring payment option, sponsor a child, or sponsor a special project. This feature allows supporters to easily contribute on a regular basis, helping to ensure sustainable funding for the COKO’s educational and medical needs.
Additionally, PPWD provided essential training to the COKO team on basic Shopify usage. This included tutorials on navigating the Shopify admin, updating the site’s navigation, and managing products. The goal was to empower the COKO team to effectively utilize the platform for fundraising and outreach.
